Rahua
Co-founder and New York hairstylist Fabian Lliguin came across indigenous tribeswomen in the Amazon with long, beautiful hair. For centuries, these women relied on rahua oil to moisture their hair and skin. They gave Fabian some oil to bring back to his salon and he tested it on a client, only to find out that it had miraculous benefits on hair. That was the birth of Rahua –made with organic, natural, pure plant derived ingredients. It’s vegan, non-toxic and free of parabens, siliciones, sulfates and gluten. All the ingredients are grown wild (not farmed) and hand processed through ancestral knowledge.
Conscious of the environment the brand finds ways to reduce its carbon footprint. The non-toxic, clean formulas prevent pollution of waterways; it uses PET packaging that’s 100 per cent recyclable. They also go beyond fair trade by committing to preserving the rainforest and the indigenous people. The tribespeople are paid above fair trade, which helps them create a healthy, self-sustained economy so they can live in the Amazon and continue to protect the rainforest.
